City Council Priority: Improve Technology

At the Council Goal Setting in March 2019, the Council expressed a desire to focus on improving technology related to City services. Currently many of the systems utilized by the City are antiquated, and in critical need of being upgraded.

Listed below are a number of the action items associated with this Tier 1 Council priority:

  • Invest in additional IT Staffing
  • New Finance/HR System (ERP) - foundational for the organization
  • Chief Innovation Officer to implement system improvements throughout the organization
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiencies and improvement
  • Internal Technology Committee
  • Assessment by IT of various system needs:
  • Risk Management System
  • Permitting System - Oracle Early Adopter Program
  • Kiosks with surveys for the public
  • Digital informational "billboard" in City Hall
