As You Like It by William Shakespeare

"All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players"

When Rosalind's father, the Duke Senior, is usurped by his younger brother Fredrick, he is banished and flees to the Forest of Arden. Rosalind is quickly banished as well. Disguised as a young man, Ganymede, with her cousin Celia, Fredrick's only daughter, disguised as Aliena, they follow the banished Duke, Rosalind's father, with the help of the court fool Touchstone. Along the way they meet Orlando, who has fallen in love with Rosalind at court, while the shepherdess Phebe has fallen in love with Ganymede (Rosalind in disguise), dashing the hopes of Silvius, who is in love with Phebe. In the mean time more lovers join the confusion as Oliver falls for Aliena, Touchstone for Audrey, who also finds herself pursued by the shepherd, William.

Foreign Film: Amal

Foreign Film: Amal

Amal, a passionate and principled French teacher at a diverse high school in Brussels, believes deeply in the power of literature to open minds and build bridges. She encourages her students to think critically, embrace tolerance, and speak freely—even when doing so makes her a target.

As Amal champions these ideals in the classroom, tensions rise. Her outspoken commitment to freedom of expression and acceptance puts her at odds with some students and colleagues who are influenced by Islamic extremism. When a vulnerable student is brutally harassed for being suspected of homosexuality, Amal refuses to turn a blind eye. Instead, she risks everything to stand by him — facing down threats, fear, and isolation to defend human dignity.

This is more than a story about a teacher—it’s a searing portrait of moral courage in an age of division. Provocative, timely, and deeply moving, this film will stay with you long after the credits roll.
